Spotwork is a workforce marketplace connecting skilled professionals with great local opportunities. We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for a fast-paced role in Billings, Montana. In this position, you will play a crucial part in keeping the supply chain moving smoothly by safely moving, staging, and organizing materials within an active warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up or sit-down forklifts to safely load and unload inbound and outbound trailers.
• Transport pallets of materials and goods to designated storage areas across the facility.
• Coordinate closely with inventory and shipping teams to accurately prepare shipments for dispatch.
• Perform routine daily safety and mechanical inspections on your forklift equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace at all times to ensure operational safety.

Requirements

• Proven professional experience operating sit-down forklifts within a logistics, industrial, or warehouse environment.
• Valid forklift operator certification, or the ability to successfully pass a practical driving assessment.
• Physical capability to safely lift up to 50 pounds regularly and to stand, bend, or sit for extended hours.
• A strict dedication to workplace safety protocols, including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or RF scanners for inventory tracking is highly preferred.
• Prior experience working in distribution centers, less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping, or cross-dock operations is a strong advantage.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for executing minor equipment checks and regular battery maintenance.
